| Description |
| Install, dismantle, or move machinery
and heavy equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, or other drawings
using, hand tools, and power tools. May be required to be certified as
a structural welder. Requires 4+ years of experience in the field or
in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures
within the material handling industry. Relies on experience and judgment
to plan and accomplish goals. Ability to read blue prints and lay-out
plans. Performs a variety of tasks. Works as a crew leader under general
supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
May be required to supervise crews. |

| 5 years experience Requires a high

| Skills |
- Replace defective parts of conveyor or machine or adjust clearances
and alignment of moving parts.
- Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares,
rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
- Connect power unit to conveyors or equipment, and test unit to evaluate
its mechanical operation.
- Repair and lubricate conveyor and equipment.
- Assemble and install conveyor, using hand tools and power tools.
- Position steel frames to support bedplates of conveyor and equipment,
using blueprints and schematic drawings, to determine work procedures.
- When needed signal crane operator to lower basic assembly units to
bedplate, and align unit to centerline.
- Insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts,
using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances
between moving and stationary parts.
- Move conveyors and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and
trucks.
- Attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly unit, using
hand tools and power tools.
- Direct others as necessary to accomplish install or removal.
